Every handbag, backpack and tote is cut from a single hide or bolt, punched by hand, and saddle-stitched with waxed thread. When a piece sells, that is the end of it — the pattern may repeat, the bag never does.

Each piece is numbered on a stamped tag inside the lining. Sold pieces stay listed — they show what the bench has made, and they can be a starting point for a commission of your own.

Four things to choose between

Pick a swatch to see how it wears, what it costs, and which bags suit it. Every option is stitched with the same hardware and the same thread.

How a bag gets made

Five steps, in this order, every time. A commission takes four to six weeks from the first note.

    We talk it through

    What you carry, what you already own that works, what fails on it. Size and pocket layout get settled here, before anything is cut.

  2. 02

    The hide is chosen

    Hides are picked by hand for grain and thickness. Brands, scars and range marks stay in — they are why one bag can't be reprinted.

  3. 03

    Pattern and cut

    Paper pattern first, then a single clean cut. Edges are bevelled, sanded, and burnished before any two pieces meet.

  4. 04

    Saddle stitched

    Two needles, one waxed thread, every hole punched by hand. It is slower than a machine and it does not unravel when a stitch is cut.

  5. 05

    Hardware and finish

    Solid brass or nickel set by hand, lining fitted, tag stamped with the piece number. Then it goes in a cotton bag and comes to you.

Have one made for what you actually carry

Tell me the bag you keep wishing existed — the strap length, the pocket for the thing that never fits, the hide you want it in. I'll come back with a sketch, a material list and a price before any money changes hands.

  • Four to six weeks from the first note
  • Half down when the pattern is approved, half on completion
  • Repairs on anything from this bench, for as long as it exists
